This is the designs for the qualifying rounds of the finale for #CatwalkChallenge's PR challenge. To those who have watched me for a while, I should hope you recognize the models~ (At least, the first two. XD)
So, I was already designing clothes for my three leading ladies, or as they call themselves, "The Coven." I thought why not use them for this challenge? It works, right? eue My inspiration was steampunk fashion. It's the fashion of choice in the universe of my story, where these characters are from.
I knew for sure I wanted pants somewhere. Ruzhen, the first gal, is modelling them (pants suit her most). The style of the pants were inspired by military pants (the ones that bulge at the hips - no idea what they're called though). And of course, belts, belts everywhere! Not only do I have a weakness for belts, I think Ru is the type of character to enjoy them too.
For the second look, Hattie models a frillier take on steampunk. If you're familiar with the style, you can tell it's lolita-inspired. (Helloooo JSK!)
Finally, for the third ensemble, Suning sports a more aristocratic-inspired look. Hers was originally going to be a dress (I wanted a little range here) but it ended up being separates.
To tie the whole mini-collection together, I kept to a color palette of black, grey, purple, and gold. To be honest, I highly doubt Su is the type to wear so much black, but for the sake of cohesiveness, black she wears! And of course, the motif in all the outfits are belts. I love belts. I can't get enough of them. Ironically, I almost never wear them in real life. (Though I'd like to... :I)
So then! Two birds with one stone. A completed entry for the 13th challenge, and an outfit ref (er, sorta) for three of my OCs. Multitasking at it's finest, eh? No? Okay...
If you like my designs, please spare a few minutes to vote when the polls go up. ;u;

;U; Thank you, dearie. And yes. Steampunk fashions are the beeeest. But my collection will be a smorgasbord of steampunk, victorian, and aristocrat. Kinda the same yet very different. (Or maybe they are the same. I should know this... but I don't.) It will certainly be interesting. I think. (I hope.) XD
