Project Runway Challenge 2 - Candy Couture by Miss-Bow Project Runway Challenge 2 - Candy Couture by Miss-Bow
AUGH. Why am I always so slow? ;u;
Here it is, finally! My entry for the second round of #CatwalkChallenge's very own Project Runway competition. It.... it came out far better than I hoped it would. For that I am proud of my creation, win or lose. uvu

Dylanís Candy Bar candy used:
:bulletblue: Black Licorice Wheels - Black stripes on dress
:bulletblue: Nonpareils - White stripes on dress
:bulletblue: Raspberry Rock Candy - Other half of dress
:bulletblue: Strawberry Sour Belts - Dress straps
:bulletblue: Chocolate Heart Candies (Wrapped) Ė Dress adornments and necklace charm
:bulletblue: Dylanís Candy Bar Stripe Wrapping Paper (Ribbon only) Ė Corseted back of dress
:bulletblue: Malt Balls Ė Threaded into necklace
Lord & Taylor accessories used:
:bulletblue: Jessica Simpsonís Waleo Platform Pumps
(I wish there were nice black pumps available on the Lord & Taylor wall. I feel like that would complete the look even better. :íD)

Allow me to elaborate on my design. uvu
For this challenge, I wanted to take advantage of the available colors of the candy. However, I am a bit timid with using color. Donít get me wrong, I love the pop of color once in a while, but my forte is with black and white. Then, when watching the episode and seeing so much color and a whole wall of black candy, I figured why not use both? So thatís the origin of my color choice! I decided to use circular candy in black and white to create the illusion of stripes because... well, I love stripes! And I thought this would be more creative than simply using the black and cream licorice anyway.
As for the funky silhouette, Iíve always loved bubble-hem skirts. Theyíre so cute! Though, I donít have much experience drawing them so I hope you think the design is quirky, not dumpy. :íD As for the ruffles (and I gotta tell ya, I love them ruffles), I figure I could make them out of black candy tinfoil. Forming the waves would be easy with an easily manipulated textile, yes? c:
